Cold-Pressed Mint Lemonade Without Heating: Simple & Fresh
Ingredients
-
1 cup fresh mint leaves, washed and stems removed
-
Juice of 3-4 fresh lemons (about 1 cup)
-
3-4 tablespoons sugar or jaggery (adjust to taste)
-
3 cups cold filtered water (adjust for taste and thickness)
-
Ice cubes (optional)
-
Lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions
-
Prepare Fresh Ingredients:
Wash the mint leaves well and remove tough stems. Freshly juice lemons and strain seeds for smooth juice. -
Grind Mint Leaves:
In a blender or food processor, add the fresh mint leaves with about half a cup of the cold water. Blend until the mint is finely ground and the water turns green. -
Mix Lemon Juice and Sweetener:
Add lemon juice and sugar or jaggery to the mint puree. Blend again briefly just to mix. -
Add Remaining Water:
Pour in the remaining water and pulse the blender a couple of times to mix well but keep it fresh and not too frothy. -
Strain (Optional):
For a smoother drink, pour the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove mint pulp. This step is optional depending on preferred texture. -
Serve Over Ice:
Serve the mint lemonade chilled over ice cubes with a garnish of lemon slices and mint sprigs.
